| Beginning
with version 4.11, the default installation location was
changed from C:\lm2000 to c:\Program Files\LOANMASTER.
This was done under pressure
from Microsoft to conform to their standards. If your
version is earlier than 4.11, you should find it at
C:\lm2000 unless you installed it to a network location.
If it is 4.11 or later, you should find it at C:\Program
Files\LOANMASTER.
You can locate the system for
sure by right clicking on the icon you use to start
LoanMaster and selecting "Properties" from the
Windows context menu.
Make a complete backup of
the entire system by copying the complete LoanMaster
system directory and all subdirectories.
If you don't know how to do
this, please see "What
Do I Need To Know..."
Download the file lmusetup.exe
from the upgrades page. The link will start with
"Download Latest Update Program". Be sure to
instruct your browser to save the file on your desktop
(or some other convenient place that you can find after
the download is completed.)
When the file is on your
desktop, you should see an Icon that looks like this:

Occasionally, on some machines,
the Icon comes out as a blank white window.
Execute this program by double
clicking the Icon.
You will be asked for the
update password. When the screen is first displayed, the
"OK" button will be grayed out. When the
correct password is entered, the "OK" button
will become active and you can continue. The password
changes each year in January and will be supplied at
that time to each user who subscribes to the update
service.

Enter the password you received
from Bottom Line Software. Passwords ARE case sensitive.
when the password is correct the "OK" button
will become active and you can click on "OK"
Clicking on OK will start the
Microsoft Windows Installation program and install the
upgrade to your LoanMaster system.
On upgrades, after several
messages are displayed you will come to the End User
License Screen. Select the option button labeled
"Accept" then click on "Next".
You will now see the readme
file This will contain instructions relative to this
upgrade. Unfortunately, you will not be able to print it
until after the upgrade is complete. You will find a
copy of it in the LoanMaster directory.
You will now be asked for the
Normal Windows customer information. Loan Master does
not use this information. It is stored by Windows.
Next you will see the
Destination Folder Dialog. This is the most important
screen in the update process. You must tell this screen
where your system is located.

The default location to be
updated is C:\Program files\LOANMASTER.
To change the location, click
on the "Change" button. You can then either
type in the path if you know it, or you can browse to
the location. The location you are looking for is the
location where the system is installed on your network.
Example:
Browse to the C:\LM2000 folder

Click on "OK", then
"Next", then "Install" and
eventually "Finish"
After the upgrade finishes, you
should start the program and be sure it is upgraded. You
should get various messages about "First Time After
Update" and "Rebuilding Data Files" These
messages will vary but they will appear ONLY on the
first time the program is started after an upgrade.
Next, from the main menu bar, select
"Administration" then "Display System
Status" Be sure the version number displayed there
agrees with the version number you downloaded from the
web page.
IMPORTANT NOTICE !
If this is your first
upgrade since version 4.06 or June 01, 2004 you must
also download and install the Workstation Setup program
on each computer that will need to access this
LoanMaster System.
