Typical Question:

What should I do to "evaluate" the evaluation system?

  Answer:

The purpose of the evaluation system is for you to be sure that it will do what you need.

You should test every part of the system that you need to manage your portfolio.

At the bare minimum:

Set up test loans just like the new loans you create in your business.

Use the existing loan setup screen to set up several of your actual existing loans.

Update these loans one day at a time for at least 60 days and check the interest and late charge calculations. ( This does not imply a 60 day evaluation period. One update cycle will take only a few seconds. You can update a dozen test loans and post payments to each, and repeat the process over and over until they are all updated. This entire process will take a few hours. )

Print notices, loan statements, and other reports. If you need information you don't find, ask about it.

If you have an outside accountant, send her copies of the trial balance, the daily balancing, and other reports for comment.
